I passionately believe there is a real need for children to be able to communicate clearly and confidently – whether it be reading at the school Carol Service or feeling more confident in their secondary schools interviews.

Learning these skills whilst still at school will give children a firm foundation on which to build as they grow into adulthood, helping them substantially in both their personal and professional lives.

The courses are crammed full of specific tips and exercises to help each individual pupil. Robin’s experience, enthusiasm and sense of humour, make the courses both memorable and fun.

I offer both group and one to one coaching sessions to pupils in Interview

and Public Speaking Skills.

Courses are tailored for each particular age group.

They can be adapted to your timetable and pupil availability.

On courses, pupils will work as a group, in pairs and individually for specific exercises.

They will work on all areas of their personal communication and public speaking skills.

INTERVIEW SKILLS

Interview skills and practice can be really helpful, particularly at 8+, 11+ and Common Entrance time, when pupils are interviewing for prep and secondary schools, and in the sixth form for University and job interviews.

Robin Kermode runs courses and individual coaching sessions in Interview Skills for pupils of all ages. These basic skills are essential for pupils to have the best chance of getting into their chosen schools and universities. Robin can help pupils deal with nerves and gives specific techniques to answer difficult questions. He wants them to come across as relaxed, informed and interesting pupils that schools and universities will want to offer their places to.

I offer Inset Training sessions for teachers.

Typically a session would last for an hour and a half.

When more specific public speaking skills are required,

I can offer half day and full day courses.

Confidence when speaking is a skill most teachers have when talking to their pupils in the classroom. But often when speaking to a large group of expectant parents, the nerves kick in. These skils are also Life Skills, which can help in many situations. We look at nerves, body language and voice.

The over-riding feedback I have had from teachers is that the sessions were really useful, both in and out of the classroom, and also were great fun.
